GIFFA’s 1st Anniversary
The GIFFA message board was launched on 17 November 2009, originally on Aimoo, before being moved to Proboards on 24 November 2009. All a year ago now.
There have been important developments since then:
- All the scheduling of indoor football games has been on the message since then.
- The reporting on our games was moved to the message board early on.
- Most other indoor football-related aspects of the blog have been moved to the message board, and all remaining indoor football-related aspects will be moved from the blog to the message board in due course.
- The player lists are now on the message board, and no longer circulated by e-mail.
- Our regular games are all 7 (or 8 ) a side.
- All the regular games fill up largely on the message board.
- Some games are extremely popular.
- We also have regular women’s games.
Future developments include using “extra games” to seed new games, and a system of prepayment.
GIFFA is to date the only success of this blog. 🙂
As described above, the message board replaced the functions of this blog, and the message board was formally separated from this blog on 9 May 2010. Over a period of time, I will be deleting all posts on this blog prior to the revamp of this blog on 1 May 2010 (earliest posts first). However, posts prior to May 2010 remain archived on the FIOFAFI Archive.

The playing rules and principles, and the GIFFA system, are now on the GIFFA message board as well. All aspects of the day-to-day functioning of the GIFFA games are now on the GIFFA Message Board.
Proboards is currently suffering a “Denial of Service” attack.
