OPSAGE: Third Quarter 2010
I’m continuing with OPSAGE on a quarterly basis. This one is a bit late in the quarter I know.
Our regular indoor football games are now run entirely on the GIFFA Message Board.
The message board has also been used to organize regular mixed or women’s games (through the “Other Games” board). We’ve had the following mixed or women’s games since July 2010:
- Mixed game on Sunday, 18 July 2010.
- Mixed game on Saturday, 24 July 2010.
- Mixed game on Sunday, 1 August 2010.
- Mixed game on Sunday, 15 August 2010.
- First-ever women’s session on Sunday, 22 August 2010
There is another women’s session this Saturday. All the mixed games and women’s sessions so far have been on the small pitch at the Premier Pitch.
Kimberly has also played in our regular games.
The “Other Games” board can also be used for the following:
- if you have a team looking to for another team to play against;
- if you have your own regular game, which is short of players; or
- to propose other ad hoc games.
We have yet to organize a game for any other sport besides football. Floorball still looks the most likely, but I don’t see it happening anytime soon.
Other non-sport activity may be more likely. I’ll come back to that later this year.
We had another all-women’s session on Saturday. The next on is scheduled for the coming Saturday.
The third all-women’s session was on Saturday again. I’ll stick with Saturday, 5 to 6 pm for now.
The game the weekend just gone was switched to Sunday.
Hur Yuin informs me there are better numbers for Sunday. As there are only a limited number of pitches available at the Premier Pitch this weekend, the women’s game has been switched to Sports Planet.
The women’s game this Sunday has been switched to the Premier Pitch.
Now that regular indoor football (including the regular women’s game) is organized entirely through the GIFFA Message Board, what is left on the blog is “OPSAGE” – other projects, sports, activities, games and events.
Therefore, there is no longer a need for a separate “OPSAGE” page.
We are already half way through the fourth quarter. I think I’ll skip an OPSAGE post for the fourth quarter. I’ll review OPSAGE in the new year.
