Sunday Evening At Turf City: 21 June 2009

The default line ups were:

  • Whites: Rajseran, Sushil, Timmy, Anthony, Ron, Swee Hoe
  • Reds: Poh Keng, Imran, Azmi, Rajiv, Rizal, Erik

Reds took a 3-2 lead after an even opening. They gradually pulled away to an 8-3 lead. As Reds slackened off, Whites pulled the score back to 7-8. Reds tightened up and kept their noses in front, to run out 11-8 winners.

Both sides played well. Reds probably played better as a unit. Reds had the better of the first half of the session. In the later half of the session, Whites missed several chances.

Whites looked stronger on paper but the game was even as it progressed. It was quite nervy when whites pulled back from 5 goals down and it looked like they could draw or even create an upset after trailing behind for most of the game. Thankfully reds got their acts together again and scored a few more goals to ease the tension.

Are you sure Whites looked better on paper 🙂

If the bookmakers would have been there before the match , they would have taken REDS and give 2 balls 🙂

Rajseran: Well, initially when I looked at the lineup I saw 2 veteran players for Whites, and Timmy. I’ve played some games with him to know the damage he could do. We’ve got good players too but the way I see it Whites looked better.

Rajiv: Actually I’m more of an extra who likes to give some comments. I’m bad at keeping track of events and scores. Ha.

There are no obligations in being an author. If you are the first to comment on a session summary, I’ll just move your comment into the post, and attribute the post to you.

As for Sunday’s line ups, I thought they were quite even. Reds started playing as a unit from early in the game. Whites only started playing as a unit towards the end.
