Other Matches: 11-A-Side Game On Saturday

The 11-a-side game against Kevin and Mark L’s church team is confirmed for next Saturday.

Date:  Saturday, 25 April 2009
Time:  3 pm
Venue:  East Spring Secondary School (Tampines)
Parking:  Multi-story car park at Block 359A.
Cost:  S$60 divided by number of players

We have the following players so far:

  1. Rajseran
  2. Yaseen
  3. Chris
  4. Luke
  5. Shankar
  6. Tim
  7. Andy M
  8. Yuchi
  9. Gilbert
  10. Damian
  11. Sze Kuan

We could do with several more.  Any shortfall in our numbers will be made up with players from our opponent’s squad.

The pitch is REAL GRASS, so make sure you have appropriate boots.

Anyone named above who cannot make it, let us know early as well.

I propose that we wear white tops, FIOFAFI’s first colour.

I don’t think we can have another 11-a-side game on Saturday, 9 May 2009 as it is Vesak Day.

I’m not sure if James’s team is still available or interested to play an 11-a-side game against us on Saturday, 16 May 2009, but if you’re interested and available, please let us know as soon as possible with a comment below.  Time and venue still to be fixed.

Benjamin, Joel and Sze Kuan are the only three to have confirmed specifically for 16 May.

I’ve only got futsal boots, do I really need studded boots for real grass?

    • Kevin
      Tue 21 April 2009 at 11:04 pm

Not really necessary. The ground at East Spring is quite hard so should be ok. Some of my players use futsal boots too.

    Hi Rajiv

Would be good if you could consolidate the numbers by tomorrow and give me an indication of how many you need from my side so that I can inform them. I’ll allocate the fattest fatties to cross over from us to you!

John J will play, so we’re up to 15:

      1. Rajseran

      3. Luke
      4. Shankar
      5. Tim

Murray, Alan and/or Matt may decide to play after tonight’s session, so I’ll confirm the numbers by tomorrow.

There may still be a couple more, so we could be between 14 and 19.

I’m sure Rajiv would like that. Perhaps he could offer a transfer fee for me to consider.

      A FIOFAFI jersey?

      On Wikipedia:

In lower leagues payment in terms of goods, notably playing kit and equipment has occasionally occurred.

I’ve read about some odds ones before, but can’t remember any specific example off-hand.

    • Kevin
      Thu 23 April 2009 at 12:09 pm

Ha ha…that’s a good one. I’m sure Mark L will be very pleased to know that his worth is equal to that of a FIOFAFI jersey…

  12. rajseran
    Thu 23 April 2009 at 1:35 pm

Take note that the Jersey is only good for the first three days and after that you may donate them to your nephew unless you wanna expose your nipples while playing . Its from just nice to figure hugging top . I probably need to cut them into V neck and expose my sexy hairy chest in order to breath in them .

      Thu 23 April 2009 at 2:08 pm

I certainly hope you will not be parading this fashion during Sat’s match, otherwise you may be attracting attention for all the wrong reasons.

    • Yaseen
      Thu 23 April 2009 at 3:02 pm

yUP mine shrank too… i can only use it when i go clubbing as it clearly shows my 6 packs..

      • rajseran
        Thu 23 April 2009 at 3:17 pm

  13. Hairuddin
    Fri 24 April 2009 at 12:46 pm

    Sorry. I am newbie.

Is it a must to have shin guards?

Are you guy practising unlimited substitutions? Or the standard 3 or 5?

    Thanks,
    Hairuddin

  14. Kevin
    Fri 24 April 2009 at 1:26 pm

Not a must but certainly wear a pair for your protection. I never take the field without mine.

We will be allowing rolling (unlimited) substitutions tomorrow.

    • Mark L
      Fri 24 April 2009 at 1:37 pm

i think with Referee, you MUST wear Shin Pad. If not, they have a righ to not allow you to play. But wearing one is certainly safer..

      • Hairuddin
        Fri 24 April 2009 at 1:44 pm

Thanks guys. Will look for my shin guards.

Please be reminded that the entrance to the field is next to Block 362. If you are driving, the multi-storey car park you should park at is at Block 359A. If unsure, please check the street directory map link in the original header post.

We have 15. I’ve informed Kevin that we could do with a couple of his spare players. Mid-afternoon and all that.

See you all before 3 pm at East Spring Secondary School, Tampines. Click on the link in the original post for a location map.

Reminder that we’re wearing white tops.

Spare players? You’ve got more players than us already (my team’s got 13)! I’ll ask a couple more guys to turn up then.

        We don’t play 11-a-side as often. 🙂

Anyway, Damian SMSed me yesterday to say he’s doubtful, and I won’t last long.
