Extremely tight and physical game but played in good spirits with Reds just barely managing a 11-10 victory over the Blacks. Wont be surprised if everyone woke up with sores and aches todat.

1stly, Hats off to all my teammates who played their heart out. Shankar had very good spells in goal and that helped us keep in track throughout the game. Neil and Chris were full of running and had glorious opportunities and made some count.

2ndly, Nick scored a scorcher before the halfline and its worthy for the goal of the month candidate!! Well done mate. That was Mental 🙂

3rdly, it should have been 9-9 because 1 ball didnt cross the line. It hit the top crossbar and ricochet down to the ground which Chris thought was a goal but it wasnt as i was standing just in front of the goalpost. Even Shankar who was playing keeper was perplexed by that decision. Before i could explain the situation, Reds were already rejoicing!!

4thly, Nick mentioned yesterday that Blacks had good sportsmanship yesterday BUT it was not reciprocated back by the Reds! too many incident too mentioned. I dont wanna waste time on all these physcobabble.

5thly, Rajiv has mentioned a very empirical truth about FIOFAFI. Its about maturity but it was not evident in yesterday’s game though majority of the players were sporting enough, SPORTSMANSHIP in general was sadly missing. Brings out the competitiveness out of the game.

Lastly, for the record, the game ended prematurely as an announcement has not be made yet but some guys from Reds were so eager to end the game as they were bombarded by wave after wave of Blacks attack. Fatigue was evident and so they called the guy at the cage and told them times up. Excuse me?! I have never experienced this in my FIOFAFI sessions so far. The same scenario on another day if a team is down, they will play till announcement in made! So not nice to have double standards as it reflects alot! In the end, it ended ’10-9′ to the Reds!

Yaseen, there is the option of a “contested win”. Reds would get 2 points (equivalent to a win in an unranked game) instead of 3, while Blacks would get 1 point (equivalent to a draw, instead of 0).

Ultimately, winning or losing is not the be all and end all of each session.

Unless anyone has strong objections, I’ll put this result down as a contested win. It wouldn’t be the first time. In the end, it doesn’t make that much difference.

        Hi Rajiv

how can this be a contested win when the game ended more then 5 mins . And it wasnt that we stopped with our calls , someone had checked with them and they overlooked and stopped the game .

But was confirmed by his own team mate that it was a goal otherwise we would have got a penalty as he held the ball with his hands when it was still in play

I remember us starting slightly over ten while waiting for the rest to come and settle down.. There were some casual passing going around the arena before we eventually start.. 🙂

sorry slightly over 9pm.. Yup if it was a penalty, probability stands at 50/50.. Im not disputing anything. Bottom line score was 11-10 or 10-9 or something like that

As mentioned , last night was the toughest match i have ever played with FIOFAFI . This morning i could not even wake up and not for my busy schedule , i would have love to take the day off and drive down to JB for a nice getaway with a nice massage ofcourse 🙂

LAst night game was a good one . The blacks at one stage was leading too , i think it was 6-5 to them before The reds came back . ME and NICK did a double , scored a scorcher before the halfline and i did just slightly above the half line but it was just a look alike goal .

Jujing was excellent in Goals and Melvin with some good spells with his goal scoring abilities.

But i would say that The Blacks were a tough nut to crack and were very dangerous with their counter attack . When the REds were leading 11- 9 , we thought it was all game over but the blacks just did not give up with YAseen in control up front .

Finally when it was 11-10 , we had to hang on tight and well again , with all those blocks from their shooting , i am sure some of us woke up with some Sore Ass.

We ended the game with extra 5 mins of actual playing time. I think the marshall must be watching some porn movie forgetting that there were some players there dying for the CALL and eventually someone had to call for it .

After all , Nice game and i will loved to have more of these matches. I would have smile and accept defeat if we loss but at least it was a good game.

Goal of the season should be given to NICK .

blush, blush, you too kind guys. I agree with Raj, definately the hardest game I have ever played of 5 a side. My shirt was soaking. God I love this game and without sounding a little weet woo I love you guys as well. In a blokey, firm handshake kind of way.
