Other Activities: March 2009

This is the second of the monthly “Other Activities” post.

Anyone who would like to propose any activity other than the regular futsal sessions on weekday nights, please add a comment below.  If you can, also set out how the activity is to be organised.  If the activity is popular, and I have the time to do so, I can help organise it.

The following are already in the pipelines for this month:

  • The proposal to watch Geylang United play Tampines Rovers at Jalan Besar Stadium in the evening of Friday, 20 March 2009.  Although several of you have informed me verbally that you’d like to go watch the game, no one has commented on the blog yet.  I’ll go by the comments on the blog, so if you’d like to go watch, add a comment below.
  • Damian is looking to arrange the next 11-a-side game against IBM on the second or third Saturday this month.   He has been added as an author, so he can put up the proposal as a separate post.  He (or anyone else for that matter), can also propose an 11-a-side game as a comment below.  However, as 11-a-side games have already proven popular, it would be better to do so as a separate post.  Anyone who proposes an 11-a-side game, please liaise with the proposed opponents to arrange the date, time and place, and to make the bookings for a pitch and a referee, the way Andy M did for the last two 11-a-side games.  I’ll help in any other way I can, but I don’t want to get involved in any of those aspects.
  • As interest has been expressed on the blog for a 7 or 8-a-side game at The Premier Pitch at Turf City, Bukit Timah (by Rajseran, Andy M and Murray in particular), we’ll have one there on Saturday, 28 March 2009, 5 to 6 pm (provided that The Premier Pitch has re-opened by then).
  • I’ll re-look a session of Cage cricket this month.

Anyone interested in the above activities, or would like to propose any other activity, please add a comment below.

It doesn’t look like we’ll have another 11-a-side this month.

However, the 7 or 8-a-side game scheduled for The Premier Pitch is going ahead.

I’ll hold over the attempt at Cage cricket until next month. It will probably be on a Saturday afternoon to start with. Hopefully, there’ll be more interest by then.

We’ll go ahead to watch Geylang United play Tampines Rovers at Jalan Besar Stadium tomorrow night.
