Boris can’t wait for the session report, so I’m doing this introductory post so that he (or any one else for that matter) can report or comment on the session.

Based on the schedule, the line ups were as follows:

  • Blacks:  Boris, Philipp, Andy N, Wade, Lukas
  • Whites:  Gilbert, Dirk, Edardy, Luke, Chris

I don’t know the score, so Boris, or the first person to comment, let us know what it was.

Looking at the teams it would seem to be very evenly matched game especially with Andy having played an extra hour before playing with us. Blacks held the ball very well and they pushed up with beautiful flowing football which resulted in quite a number of goals even with Gilbert doing a superb job in defence. Whites had their chances too but couldn’t convert them and Andy being in goal for the Blacks added more misery for the Whites attack. Overall it was well played football from both sides with whites just lacking a bit in terms of first touch and finishing. The game ended 18 – 4 in favour of the blacks.

One of those days I guess. If you’re on the receiving end, you just have to come back and do better.

Whites were visibly frustrated towards the end of the game but the after session beers courtesy of Lukas sorted that out. Bless him!

Pure and simple, whites were out played, out skilled, and worn out for almost the whole game.

Andy in goal is something I hope I dont ever have to play against again, I felt a bit bad having hit so many shots into him but I have to hand it to him, nothing went past him.

The blacks undeniably had the finishing skills which the whites didnt have, this was more than evident by the whites trying to drive home goals from too far out.

Wade and his organisational efforts of the black team proved too good in both defence and offence, the whites clearly exhausted themselves chasing while the blacks sat back and played smart football.

Well done blacks, a well earned victory.

Whites, we learn and take our lessons taught to the next time we play.
