Other Activities: February 2009

Sun 1 February 2009 Leave a comment Go to comments

Since our first drinks on 12 February 2008, and our first 11-a-side game on 10 May 2008, we have had other activities apart from our regular futsal sessions.

As I said a couple of weeks ago:

…, anyone interested in any other activity is free to organize it through the blog or seek other participants on the blog. ….

If anyone who has been added as an author wishes to organize a group activity through the blog, it can be done as a new post.

….

For everyone else looking for something simpler, perhaps someone to play tennis, squash, badminton or golf with, I’ll put up a monthly “Other Activities” post for you to add your comments.

I’ll also add an “Other Activities” page summarizing the significant other activities currently on offer.

This is the first of the monthly “Other Activities” posts.

After organizing an 11-a-side game last month, Andy M is organising another for 21 February 2009. As an author, he is able to do so in a separate post.

I have also added the “Other Activities” page. The 11-a-side game has been added to the “Other Activities” page.

Any author who regularly organizes activities through the blog can be “upgraded” to an editor, which will enable him to edit the “Other Activities” page. Andy M, shall I change your user role to editor?

Feel free to propose below any (lawful) activity suitable for working adults.  There were already some suggestions in response to an earlier post on 1 January 2009.

Like I said in the post later in January, if at first you don’t get much response, don’t lose heart – sometimes, it takes people a while to get their heads round participating in a new activity, or more time is needed for the pool to grow to include people interested in that activity.  Everyone is welcome.

Andy M hasn’t made use of his role as editor to date. I’ll re-look under what circumstances I’ll upgrade authors to editors, and get back to this later.

In his e-mail to me yesterday, Nagappan asked if there is anywhere he can play football today.

If anyone knows where he can pick up a game today, please provide details below.

    Thanks.

It will take a while for the monthly “Other Activities” post to take off.

Anyone disappointed that tonight’s session at Sports Planet has been cancelled might wish to consider gathering everyone who is interested to go watch the S. League Charity Shield match tonight at 7.45 pm, at Tampines Stadium.
