FIOFAFI, The Blog

Thu 1 January 2009 Leave a comment Go to comments

The blog is not just about my organizing several sessions of futsal each week.

I’m not too concerned how many sessions we have each week, although more sessions is one indication of the growth of the blog.

If there are more people who want to play, I’ll book more sessions each week, or if there are fewer people who want to play, I’ll cancel bookings, or book fewer sessions each week.

What is more challenging is other uses of the blog.

Other football

Anyone (whether FIOFAFI regulars or not) who organizes, or would like to organize their own game of football, whether an 11-a-side match, futsal, street soccer,  beach soccer or any other kind of football, is welcome to seek players through the blog.

Several regulars have played or continue to play with other groups, and they, or the persons who organize those other groups (or any other group) are at liberty to seek additional players through the blog whenever they are short of players, or on a regular basis to make up numbers.

If there is sufficient interest on the blog in any other type of football, and no one steps forward to organize a game, I might try to organize a game, but it will only go ahead if there is sufficient interest.

Even going to watch S. League games.

Other sporting activities

The blog is more than just a platform for football or futsal though.

As working adults, our opportunities to participate in a broad range of physical activity is more limited then for younger people.

Anyone interested in organizing any sports or health-related activity that requires group participation in order to be workable or enjoyable is also welcome to seek participants through the blog.

Cage cricket is one such activity that has been mentioned.

A few FIOFAFI regulars have gotten together to take up golf.

Again, if there is sufficient interest on the blog in any other activity, and no one steps forward to organize it, I might try to organize it, but again, it will only go ahead if there is sufficient interest.

My role in booking facilities and organizing any regular or one-off activity (including our regular futsal sessions) is primarily demand driven.

Writing

Whatever activity you participate in, and would like to write about it, you’re welcome to do so on the blog, especially if you have photos or a video.  Even travel.

I figure that keeping a post to about 400 words or less works best.

Online Clubhouse

Also, like I said, treat the blog as an online clubhouse.

    Raj- thats a great deal.

    Where does one stay?
And where are the games played at (which courses)? Is it all inclusive or do we still have to pay caddy and buggy fees?

For those interested, i have a little group of friends that cycle (road bikes) together on Saturday mornings. Meet time is 730 AM. And the name of the group is ‘The Breakfast Club’ so you can figure out where our priorities are… Ride speed is a measly 28 KMPH average… which also means that we are very slow.. So if you are looking for a casual group to start out with, you can contact me.
