Mailing List and Preferences

The mailing list has grown significantly since the start of the year. However, there are people on it who have either never played before, or who have not played for a very long time. Time for a cull!

If you would like to remain on the mailing list, please download this document, insert your details and e-mail it to me or to fiofafi@totalworlds.com.

I’m also taking the opportunity to collate your preferences for sessions from Monday to Thursday. For each day, please state whether you’re “Available”, “Not Available” or “Preferred”, or you can number your preferences – “1” for most preferred and so on.

Please revert with at least your details by 11 June 2008. If you want to send me your preferences later, that’s fine. After 11 June 2008, only those who send me their details will be on the mailing list.

Even if you are no longer on the mailing list, you are of course welcome to read the posts on this blog or comment on them.

Thanks.

So far, I’ve received responses from 9 of you (abovenamed plus Ian), as appears on the Mailing List. Don’t worry, your personal details have been suppressed.

I’ve revised the form to include two more details – age, introducer and date/year of first participation.

I’ve also revised the preferences to cover more options.

Those who haven’t provided the form to me yet, please do so by 11 June 2008, using the new form. At some stage after 11 June 2008, I will reduce the mailing list to those who have responded with the form. Get back to me with your contact details at least.

Those who have already provided me with the form, you can get back to me with the additional information in your own time.

    Thanks.

I’ve received 3 more responses (from Gilbert, Mark L, Clement) to bring the total to 12. Some of the responses only state one preference. If you can only make the preferred slot, that’s fine, but if you can make other slots as well, please include them in your preferences. You can order them – 1 for most preferred, 2 for the next and so on.

    Thanks.

I don’t know whether I should take credit or not, but Sushil was introduced by Teik and myself during a baby shower. Hahaha. And Collin, Teik and I were around since the RJC days – I remember back to 1996 or 1997. Someone organise me a testimonial match.

So far, only 14 (plus Hua Hui and Tim C) have sent me the form. Please do so by 18 June 2008. Thanks.

Tom, I assume you were introduced by Raj?

I finally got round to counting the number of e-mail addresses I have on the mailing list and discovered that there are 112!

All those who have never played with us before will be dropped, unless they have asked within the past month to be added or kept on the mailing list. For those of you, this will be the last e-mail you receive.

Only 14 of you have submitted the form so far. The form can be downloaded from the E-Mails page. If you find the form too bureaucratic or troublesome, at first instance, just e-mail me the following details, which will be included on the Mailing List page:

    – Name (only first name will appear on the Mailing List page, and where two or more have the same first name, the first initial of the surname)
    – Age
    – E-mail address (material parts will be suppressed)
    – Mobile number (material parts will be suppressed)
    – Introducer
    – Date/Year of First Participation

By the end of this month, everyone who is receiving e-mails from me should be listed on the Mailing List. Conversely, anyone not on the Mailing List will not be receiving e-mails from me.

To those who sent me the original form but have not sent me the revised form, please send me the additional details (age, introducer, date/year of first participation) at your earliest convenience.

You can send me your preferences, or any changes to your preferences, any time.

Anyone who wants to be dropped from the Mailing List can just send me an e-mail requesting to be dropped. Your details will then be removed from the Mailing List page and your e-mail address removed from the mailing list.

Anyone who is dropped from the mailing list can still follow our activities on this blog, and if at any time, you would like to be reinstated on the mailing list, just e-mail me the above details.

    Thanks.

I am adding the details to the Mailing List as I receive them, so the list is now up to 16 (including me). Those of you listed on the official mailing list will continue to receive e-mails from me indefinitely unless you ask to be removed from Mailing List page.

22 e-mail addresses have been dropped from the e-mails I am currently sending (the unofficial mailing list), so the total number of addresses is down from 112 to 90.

There is still a big gap between the official mailing list and the unofficial mailing list. If you want to be on the official mailing list, download the form from the E-Mails page, fill out the details and e-mail it to me at fiofafi@totalworlds.com. Again, if you find that too troublesome or bureaucratic, at least e-mail me the following details as soon as possible:

    – Name (only first name will appear on the Mailing List page, and where two or more have the same first name, the first initial of the surname)
    – Age
    – E-mail address (material parts will be suppressed)
    – Mobile number (material parts will be suppressed)
    – Introducer
    – Date/Year of First Participation

If you are not on the official mailing list, but are still receiving e-mails from me, you have not been dropped from the unofficial mailing list – yet. I’ll review the position at the end of the month.

    Thanks.

The official mailing list is up to 24, and is progressing surely but slowly.

To incentivize those who have not provided their details to me yet, from next week onwards until further notice, those on the official mailing list will be given first priority for each session.

I have also given some allowance to those overseas and added their names under a separate section for now.

The official mailing list has surged to 34, more than a third of the 90 odd addresses I have on the unofficial mailing list – nothing like a bit of an incentive!

I will keep the unofficial mailing list going for another few weeks. Hopefully, by then, everyone who wants to remain on the mailing list will be on the official mailing list.

Those of you who want to remain on the mailing list, but are not yet on the official mailing list, send me the form, or at least your details, as soon as possible.

Go to the Mailing List page to make sure you’re on it.

As the list currently stands, Collin has introduced more people on the list than anyone else!

And we now have 38 names on the official mailing list. If you are not yet on the official list, send me the form, or at least your details.

You don’t have to play week in week out, or even regularly, to be on the mailing list. As long as you want to continue to receive these e-mails, and to play once in a while, or to participate in the other activities, you’re welcome to be on the mailing list.

If ever you want to be removed from the mailing list, just drop me an e-mail.

The mailing list has hit 40 names! Those of you who are not yet on the mailing list, send me the form, or at least your details, as soon as possible.

    Thanks.

The official mailing list has hit 50 names now. And the latest inclusion is not only the oldest person on the list, he is the only one above 50, which validates the name of this blog!

I still have e-mail addresses of 49 other persons on the unofficial mailing list, making a total of 99 persons to whom I send the regular FIOFAFI updates.

By the end of August, only the names on the official mailing list will continue to receive e-mail updates from me, so if you want to continue receiving e-mail updates, make sure your name is on the Mailing List, and if not, then e-mail me the form, or at least your details, to be added to the list.

Even if you no longer receive my e-mail updates, you can continue to find us on this blog.

From September 2008 onwards, newcomers can go on the unofficial mailing list for up to a month while they decide whether they want to be included in the official mailing list.

    Thanks.
