OPSAGE: 23 August 2009
Other projects, sports, activities, games and events to participate in, watch or attend.
The S. League season is three quarters of the way through, and I’ve only managed to catch two matches so far:
- Geylang United v DPMM on 12 March 2009 at Bedok Stadium. It finished 0-0.
- Geylang United v Tampines Rovers on 20 March 2009 at Jalan Besar Stadium, with Reza. Tampines Rovers won 2-0.
I should have caught yesterday’s repeat match between Geylang United and DPMM at Bedok Stadium – Geylang United wno 4-3. The clubs play each other three times in an S. League season, once at home, once away, and the third time either home or away – a total of 33 games each.
S. League fixtures this coming week are as follows:
- Tonight at Yishun Stadium: Super Reds v Balestier Khalsa
- Tomorrow night at Clementi Stadium: Home United v Gombak United
- Tuesday night at Bedok Stadium: Geylang United v Tampines Rovers
- Thursday night at Choa Chu Kang Stadium: SAFFC v Woodlands Wellington
- Thursday night at Jurong East Stadium: Albirex Niigata v Home United
As I’ve said before, and as has been the case for a while now, S. League fixtures are included under the weekly “OPSAGE” post so that if anyone is interested in going to watch a game, they can arrange to do so with other participants through the blog.
From the middle of the week and continuing into the following week, the Singapore Cup resumes at the quarterfinal stage, played over two legs. The first leg matches are as follows:

- Sunday (30 August 2009) night at Bedok Stadium: Geylang United v Home United
- Tuesday (1 September 2009) night at Tampines Stadium: Tampines Rovers v Albirex Niigata
As with the Singapore League Cup, the S. League takes a break while domestic cup matches are played.
