Last Call For 11-A-Side Game On Saturday, 11 July 2009, 3.15 pm
This is the last call for the re-match proposed by Kevin against his church team. It will be at East Spring Secondary School (grass pitch).
Mark L and Rajseran have been asking that a separate post be put up to attract attention. The proposal has been included in the last three e-mails, so I don’t think it’s a lack of prominence. The more likely reason is that no one really gives thought to proposed games so far ahead of time. I’ve learnt from experience that it’s not worth putting up a separate post more than 10 days before the proposed match or event.
I spoke to Azmi and Weeliam after yesterday’s session, and they’re interested. Rajseran and John S have confirmed their interest. Chris and Luke are generally interested in 11-a-side games on Saturday afternoons/evenings.
Mark L, are you playing for FIOFAFI or Kevin’s team?
Anyone else?
We could develop a “squad” for future 11-a-side games. A game next Saturday would be a chance to have a run out before then.
The report on the first match against Kevin’s church team can be found here.
Hi Rajiv
I think its best when there is such 11 a aside games to be posted in a new thread with the header otherwise it goes unnoticeable .
Just my thoughts . Cheers
I agree – it took a while to find the OPSAGE entry when I looked on the blog and if it had been in its own thread, i probably would have registered an interest last week. Maybe instead of putting 11-a-side in with everything else in OPSAGE, we could have a separate section just for 11-a-side game proposals?
John
I think I didn’t list it as a separate item on the “OPSAGE” page the first week, which I should have.
In addition to the fact that only a few think about a game more than 2 weeks before, posts disappear down the list of “Recent Posts” within a week, so it’s better to put the separate post up later, otherwise, you need more than one separate post.
It might take a while for everyone to get used to the OPSAGE page. It saves me work though.
Hi Rajiv
Thanks for putting up the post to get the numbers.
Mark L will play for our church team again.
I am confident that the game will go ahead, so I’ll proceed to book a referee.
I’d like to play but i might not be able to make it in time for kick-off.
I can play.
Thanks
Sushil George
Hi everyone, thanks for responding. I count 6 and there may be a few more who have not posted their interest.
Rajseran will be collating the numbers over the next couple of days of Futsal.
Hopefully by Wednesday, we can confirm a team.
Rajseran, Chris and Luke have indicated they’re interested in 11-a-side games on Saturday afternoons generally, but haven’t yet confirmed their availability for this Saturday. You might want to check with them.
To everyone who’s keen to play the proposed game, ask friends or anyone else you think might be interested in playing this Saturday, so that we have a decent-sized squad.
I have a game already at 5pm on Saturday with my usual team. However, let me know if you are still short by Friday, and I’ll see if I can make the first half (wife & kids permitting…)
Maybe Andy M could also play some of the game though he normally has dog training on Saturdays at 5pm (not sure who’s being trained tho, him or the dog). Might be worth SMSing him.
Luke and I are in for this Saturday.
I have sms some of them . Lets see on the response
Hi guys, spoke to Rajiv and Rajseran a few minutes ago and we agreed that with the current confirmed squad of about 5 – 6, it would be unlikely to double by tomorrow. Also, I have an offer from another team to play this Sat’s friendly against my church team.
I would like to accept the offer from this other team to play and invite you guys who have confirmed to play for my church team if you don’t mind. We have just enough (11 players) for this Saturday anyway, so with 5 – 6 FIOFAFI players, we’ll have some good rotation going. Rajseran has played with us before and Mark L is a regular. It’ll be FOC if you decide to play.
Rajseran & Rajiv, thanks so much for trying to organise. Looking forward to see you guys on Saturday.
You can ask Azmi, Weeliam, Chris, Luke, John S, Reza and Sushil as well.
Hi Guys
Those who have registered , PLease confirm that you are coming on Sat. Thanks
Weeliam has something to do this Sat so he won’t be playing. As for me, I think I will have to pull out, gonna rest for Sunday game.
Hi rajiv,
I can play the 11-a-side on Sat 11 July. Are there any slots left?
Tim!
Sorry, I’m out.
I have SMS Tim, Chris, Luke, John S, Rajseran and Sushil to confirm their participation in tomorrow’s friendly.
So far, only Tim and Rajseran have responded.
Hope to see the rest tomorrow.
John S and Tim C turned up to join us, which was was great as I only had 10 players on my side.
John S and Tim C had good run-outs at right-back and centre-forward respectively. Both played the entire match.
The match ended goal-less. I will post the link to the match report when it’s done.
