Participation: Third Quarter 2009
The Participant List has reached 161.
Tomorrow is the start of a new quarter. The Participation List will be updated. The following names will be dropped:
- Those who have not played since 31 March 2009, and whose e-mail addresses I don’t have on file: Alex, Carlos, Damian2, Desmond2, Jeff2, Maya, Nick2, Stuart, Tim2, Vincent1, Zai
- Those who have not played since 31 December 2008 but whose e-mail address I had on file at the start of the current quarter: Collin, Darius, Desmond G, Juha, Julius D, Kenneth, Ladi, Llion, Marc, Mike A, Pawan, Simon H, Sriram, Steve duP, Yu Teik
- Cahir and Nicolas, who should have been dropped at the start of the current quarter on 1 April 2009, but whose names I left on the list for an extra quarter.
Like I said, I keep track of comings and goings.
The only real effect of dropping anyone from the Participant List is that they will stop receiving the e-mail newsletters (“Heads” and “Tails”) regularly. They can still follow what’s going on, and participate in activity, through the blog.
Those who are members of the FIOFAFI group on Facebook can also keep up to date through the group.
Those whose e-mail addresses I have on file will be included in a separate guest list, and may receive the e-mail newsletters once or twice a month.
The listing of participants by introducer, age and nationality will also be updated. I will also add a listing of participants by the club they support, insofar as I have the information.
Again, an easy way to introduce friends and acquaintances to our activities is to forward to them the regular “Heads” and “Tails”. If you do so, you may wish to copy me on the e-mail, so that I have their e-mail address. Or simply provide them with the URL: fiofafi.com.
If I have their e-mail addresses, I will send them the “Heads” and “Tails” e-mails regularly for a month or two. If they play in a session or game, they will be added to the Participant List. If they don’t get round to playing, I’ll add them to the guest list for a while, during which time, they may receive the “Heads” and “Tails” e-mails once or twice a month.
Like I’ve said before, only those who participate are on the Participant List.
And anyone who participates in the right spirit is welcome.
We have had more than 100 sessions and games since the start of the year.
An updated telephone list will be attached with the first e-mail newsletter of each month.
I’ve updated the Participant List and participation information. I have removed the column for “Ethnicity” since no one has provided me with information.
Who each participant supports doesn’t have to be limited to football clubs. It can be extended to any sports entity, or sports person even. First and second choices even.
I have moved all the information to a single webpage. Click on “Participation Information” in the right hand column. Check your details.
We have had 138 participants play in one or more of our sessions or games since the start of the year, and 107 participants play since 1 April 2009.

Apart from participants joining our games at our sessions themselves, The Cage has referred a couple of new participants to me – Timmy was the first, and now See Kit is the second. I’ve added a separate category for “The Cage” under the introducer rankings, distinct from joining at the various venues.
That should be Sunny, not Sonny.
Fawzi and Wei Wen have been added to the Participant List.
Sriram has been put back on the Participant List.

Liam and Ryan N have been added to the Participant List.
From now on, I’ll add all the new participants over the course of the week at the end of the week.
I received the following SMS from Dom on Friday:
As requested, I’ve taken Dom off the mailing list, but he remains on the Participant List as described in the post above.
Even if you’re away from Singapore and can’t play, you can still participate through the blog, as Boris and Dennis still do.
Gerald, Eam, Pat and Toby have been added to the Participant List.
Pat becomes our first participant from Mauritius!
Sometime last month Andy C SMSed me to say that at his age, he was taking too long to recover from injuries and that he was “retiring”.
Yesterday, Russell SMSed me to say that once he fully recovered from his ankle injury, he would return to climbing instead of football.
If anyone wishes to be taken off the mailing and telephone lists, just let me know.
