Comedy Central

The teams lined up as follows:

BLACKS: George, Tom, Mark C, Yassen, Kumar.
REDS: Santi, Ian, Yu “Clorox” Teik, Sze Kuan, Desmond.

The game stretched from 9:05 pm to 10:25 pm. Business must be good if Mase keeps giving us free game time.

Reds Blacks won, 13-8. Maybe Santi can write a match report?

    Tom, no poll?

  2. Tue 4 November 2008 at 9:47 am | #2

The poll was up last night and then disappeared. Back up now.

Let’s get Teik to write the report. He would be the best person to explain why he tackled his own teammate.

I doubt Teik will ever get round to it. It’ll have to be you Raj, or perhaps Ian (if not Tom).

Tom, for the record, I voted for you as Roy of the Rovers.

Jiv, last night’s match was a fiction. It never took place. But we agreed to tell you that it did so as not to hurt your feelings.

Ian, I have my sources. Anyway, don’t you want the win to count towards your end-of-week ranking?

    @Jiv:

Sorry, Jiv, my error. Blacks won, rather comprehensively. So far as a match report is possible, there’s this much I can say:

1 Blacks stormed 6-2 or 5-1 ahead before Reds knew what hit them

2 Yaseen had his best game yet, displaying sliky skills as required

3 It was so one-sided that George volunteered that he had bribed Teik by buying him drinks, to which Santi in exasperation asked: “what drink? Clorox is it?”

4 Aforementioned Clorox-intoxicated Teik proceeded to tackle Desmond when the latter was 2-3m from goal and in the act of shooting.

5 Aforementioned the Clorox-quenched Teik also managed to screw one of his shots so wide it went backwards.

6 Blacks just passed the ball around, and tried to dribble the ball into goal. Sze Kuan heroically did his best in the absence of a meaningful rearguard

7 Perhaps Desmond was tired – that’s what he told me after the game, having completed 2 hours at Bukit Timah prior to the game – but it was not really a contest.

If Reds had won, Teik might have gone top of the end-of-week rankings. With a Blacks win, it’s more likely to be George (subject to tomorrow’s result – a win for Dirk will keep him top).

Santi in exasperation asked: “what drink? Clorox is it?

We should have a separate post with a collection of Santi’s witticisms.

Jiv, you see what I mean? Tom is beginning to make up stuff as we go along. First, a Reds win is reported and then this is now changed to a Blacks win, blah blah blah. The “game” was all a figment of everyone’s imagination (though I think Teik did drink the Clorox).

OK man! I am retiring base on last Monday’s, (with what little rep I have left) until such time we decide to go back to Bukt Timah! But do not forget I did still score two goals!

Clorox, let’s get some things straight: your reputation was already down the drain (which clorox is useful to unclog). There is no difference in the way the ball bounces – whether at Bukit Timah or The Pitch. The ball is still round, just like your tummy. I bet you miss Babu our drinks seller, right? BTW, scoring two goals on Monday is like McCain winning South Dakota’s 3 electoral college votes. Nice, but pointless.
