There was a poor turnout last night, with 1 poor fella even turning up at 8pm. He left soon after but called at 840pm to give us a bollocking. Upon realising the misunderstanding, Clive made a U-turn that would have impressed Massa and arrived just after the revised kick-off time.

The teams lined up as follows:

Blacks: Tom, Clive, Sushil, Steve, Anon, Anon
Red Bibbed: Yu Teik, Kin, Anon, Anon, Anon, Anon

Blacks were humbled by the Reds, something diabolical like 17-4 or 23-6.

We lined up as follows last night at The Cage: Darks – Dirk, Sushil, Rajesh, Geoff, Bobby Reds – Andy P, Ian, Shankar, Joel, me As we had the previous night at Sports Planet @ East Coast, we played to the goal lines, which made for a low-scoring start to the game – less cheap goals scored off the walls/netting at the two ends.

As Ladi couldn’t make, we started with 4 v 4 at 9 pm at Sports Planet @ East Coast while I went off to find an extra player. After about 10 minutes, I found Chip, who was part of a BNP team playing a league match from 8 to 9 pm. We therefore lined up as follows:

Lights: Bobby, John, Edardy, Melvin, Chip
Darks: Steve F, Joel, Murray, Gilbert, me

Football News: Week Ending 21 September 2008

We just about made another four sessions last week (Monday to Thursday), and ended it with drinks on Friday. The Champions League group stage kicked off mid-week with Arsenal (away to Dynamo Kiev) and Manchester United (home to Villareal) drawing, and Chelsea (home to Bordeaux) and Liverpool (away to Marseille) winning.

Session Variation: 18 September 2008

As we didn’t have enough for our own session from 9 to 10 pm on Thursday at Sports Planet @ East Coast, but we still had more than 5, I arranged for us to play against Look Liew’s regular Thursday group that usually play from 8 to 9 or 10 pm at the same venue. On this occasion, they had less than 10 people, and had only booked a slot from 8 to 9 pm

We started shortly after 8.30 pm with Ronak, Murray, Melvin, Ladi and me, against Look Liew’s team which included Look Liew himself, Sze Kuan, three other adults and one kid – 5 v 5.5.
