Schedule For Week Of 19 May 2008

We have Bukit Timah campus from 8 to 10 pm on Monday, 19 May 2008 – 8 to 9 pm on Court 1, and 9 to 10 pm on Court 2. Don’t forget that Monday is a public holiday, Vesak Day.

We have Pitch 1 at The Cage on Wednesday, 21 May 2008, 9 to 10 pm.

Polls

The earlier poll on whether the Monday session should be at Bukit Timah campus or Sports Planet @ East Coast is now closed. The clear winner was Bukit Timah campus.

There is a new poll on how to organize ourselves if we have more than 14 confirmations on a Monday. There are three options. The results of the poll will not decide which option will be used, but the result will be taken into account in deciding which option will be applied. The poll is currently open until 31 May 2008, but may be extended if necessary.

Summary for 14 May 2008

We had 10 at The Cage yesterday – John S, Bret, Simon, Justin and Tim C (Darks) v Reza, Andy C, Llion, Ben Y and me (Lights).

Tim C, thinking we were playing at Sports Planet @ East Coast, went there first, so we started 4 v 4, with Lights having a rolling substitute.

Bret had his goalscoring shoes on, and fired Darks to an early 5-2 lead, which they extended to 9-2 after Tim C finally arrived. Lights weren’t playing badly – it was just that Bret and Tim C were proving to be very sharp in front of goal, and it seemed like every shot they had went in.

Lights finally got their act together, and pulled back to 7-11. However, Darks got their goalscoring going again, and the game finished 20-14 to Darks. Everyone on the Darks side was on form – Steve, Justin, John S and Bret were each tremendous when they had their turn in goal, keeping Lights down to just a handful of goals even when Lights were raining in shots from everywhere after they had pulled the game back, while apart from Brett and Tim C, Justin and John S also got in on the goalscoring. According to John S, he hardly ever scores!
