12 & 14/15 May 2008 (Schedule)

With all the excitement surrounding tomorrow’s 11-a-side game, don’t forget we have two regular sessions next week.

Confirmed so far for Monday, 12 May 2008, at Bukit Timah campus, 8 to 10 pm (we have Court No. 2 for the full two hours) - Damian, Boon Yick, Bret, Mark, Clive (yes, he’s back), Amit and me (7). Tom will be there at 9 pm. As he won’t be there from the start, I guess he can’t do next week’s Monday match report. Any volunteers?

Since most of the Monday regulars are not playing on Saturday, there is no reason not to confirm early for next Monday. We need at least 3 more, maximum 6 more.

Confirmed so far for Wednesday, 14 May 2008, at The Cage, 7 to 8 pm - John S, Reza, Bret, Andy C, Simon, Llion and me (7).

So far, only Bret, Andy C and Simon (3) are available for Thursday at The Cage, 9 to 10 pm, so it looks like Wednesday will be confirmed and Thursday cancelled.

For Wednesday, we need at least 3 more, maximum 5 more.

Please confirm early. If we have too many, it will be on a First Answer, First In (FAFI) basis.

    I’m in for Monday night. I will be there at 7.30 for shooting practice.

  4. Ok, we are up to 13 for Monday (Desmond and Sng have confirmed and including Tom) and 9 for Wednesday (Justin has also confirmed for Wednesday).

  5. We now have 18 for Monday, 12 May 2008 at Bukit Timah campus - Damian, Boon Yick, Bret, Mark L, Clive, Amit, Tom, Andreas, Gilbert, Raj, Desmond, Sng, Collin, Kin, Jason, Teik, Heath and me.

    Rather than turning anyone away, or trying to play with 3 teams, I suggest that we break it up into 2 sessions, 8 to 9 pm, and 9 to 10 pm. Playing at the pace we have over the past 2 weeks, one hour can be quite a work out, as long as we start on time.

    Please confirm whether you prefer to play from 8 to 9 pm, 9 to 10 pm or 8 to 10 pm. I will collect S$2 for each hour (inclusive of S$1 for new footballs, bibs, laundry etc).

    Those who specify a 8 pm start must be there BEFORE 8 pm. If you do not confirm your preference, I will put you in the 9 to 10 pm slot, unless there are not enough people for the 8 to 9 pm slot, in which case, I will fill the 8 to 9 pm slot first based on the FAFI principle.

    I know Tom can only be there at 9 pm, and Raj will be there at 7.30 pm. Raj, I assume you want to play until 10 pm. Everyone else, please revert.

    We are up to 9 for Wednesday, 14 May 2008, 7 to 8 pm at The Cage. We need at least one more, maximum 3 more. I will have to be much stricter with the FAFI principle for Wednesday, as we do not have a second hour to play around with.

  6. My Project Management seminar has been canned, so I shall be there at 7:30 doing some light training. I will also take the time to rate our neighbours, the netball players.

  7. Myself and Sng will be there from 8pm

  8. We are up to 19 for tonight - Damian, Boon Yick, Bret, Mark L, Clive, Tom, Andreas, Gilbert, Raj, Desmond, Sng, Collin, Kin, Jason, Yu Teik, Heath, Tim C, Andrew P and me (20).

    A couple more have indicated they would like to play tonight. I think everyone will have to choose one slot - 8 to 9 pm or 9 to 10 pm. Only 6 to 8 of us will play both slots. Those who have indicated that they’ll be there by 8 pm, I’ll put you down for the 8 to 9 pm slot in the order in which I received responses on the timing issue. For the extra places in the 9 to 10 pm slot, I’ll fill them in the order in which I received the original confirmations save that I will give priority to those who are not playing on Wednesday. (This will apply to me too). If this is Andrew P’s last game with us before he leaves for Melbourne, I will also give him priority for two hours.

    However, if the general consensus of those who are confirmed for today is that we should have 3 teams of 7, I’ll do that instead.

    We have 12 for Wednesday, 14 May 2008, 7 to 8 pm at The Cage - John S, Reza, Bret, Andy C, Simon, Llion, Gilbert, Tom, Justin, Ben Y, Tim C and me. The game is confirmed. Unless someone drops out, there are no more places available for Wednesday.

    I’ll finalise the line ups for tonight’s sessions sometime between 2 and 4 pm this afternoon. I’ll take into account any feedback I receive before then.

    I’ll start a new system for next week, which I will set out when I schedule next week’s 2 sessions.

    If there are enough of you who are keen for one more hour this week, I still have a 9 to 10 pm slot at The Cage on Thursday, 15 May 2008. I am not available, but I have no problem trying to organising it for those who are interested. However, we will need at least 10 confirmations by tomorrow afternoon, otherwise, it cannot go on. If I get enough confirmations, I will hand over the ball to one of you who confirms, who will also have to collect S$70 from those who play on Thursday to hand over to me.

    I’ll be there for the 8pm start - doesn’t matter if i get a game then or 9pm.

    Alternatively we can do the 6/7 a side rotation over 3 teams we used to do when there were too many ppl?

  10. For once, I concur with the Scouser (above). Let’s rotate with winners staying on, 8 minute games, etc.

  11. For tonight, those who have expressed a view (including by e-mail) prefer three teams of 7, and I believe everyone wants to play 2 hours.

    Although my own preference is to treat the two hours as two slots of one hour each (less waiting around, and time is precious!), today is not the day to start this, so we’ll have three teams tonight.

    We have 19. Raj is out with a fever, but Glenn is in, so we have Damian, Boon Yick, Bret, Mark L, Clive, Tom, Andreas, Gilbert, Desmond, Sng, Collin, Kin, Jason, Yu Teik, Heath, Tim C, Andrew P, Glenn and me.

    The three teams will be:

    Team A - Damian, Mark L, Andreas, Sng, Jason, Tim C, me (Dark tops)
    Team B - Boon Yick, Clive, Gilbert, Collin, Yu Teik, Andrew P (Light tops)
    Team C - Bret, Tom, Desmond, Kin, Heath, Glenn (Red tops)

    Two more slots are available, so the first two to respond (either on the blog or by e-mail) are in.

    10 minute games, winner stays. If it is a draw, the team that has been on for longer goes out.

    Everyone, please be at Court 2 by 8 pm.

  13. Tom and Gilbert are out of tomorrow’s game at The Cage (7 to 8 pm, Pitch 4) with injuries, so we are down to 10 - John S, Reza, Bret, Andy C, Simon, Llion, Justin, Ben Y, Tim C and me.

    There are therefore 2 more places available for tomorrow’s session. First answer, first in (FAFI).

    Only Andy C and Simon have stated an interest in playing on Thursday as well. As we don’t have enough people, there will be no game on Thursday.

  14. As there are no further responses, using the usual method, the line up for tomorrow at The Cage (7 to 8 pm, Pitch 4) is as follows:

    As we only have an hour, please be there by 6.55 pm at the latest.
