The 11-a-side game is on this Saturday, 10 May 2008, 11 am to 1 pm, at Tampines SAFRA.
We’ve got a squad of 21 – Dennis, Collin, Boon Yick, Bret, Chris, Sam + 2 (Ah Leong and Ah Liang), Joel, Gilbert + 3 (Michael, Kearsley & Michael’s brother), Swee Hoe, Damian, Amrish, Tim C, Mark C, John S, Sze Kuan and me.
On the assumption that those who don’t play with us regularly during the week are usually only available at the weekends (or in the case of Dennis, is living abroad and is only back for this match), I’ll give all of them a start, and keep the regulars as subs. I trust you don’t mind.
Not many of you responded on your preferred position, so I’ve slotted you where I think you can go, or in the positions that are left. The provisional starting 11 is as follows:
Goalkeeper – Amrish
Right Back – Ah Liang
Centre Back – Sam
Centre Back – one of Michael / Kearsley / Michael’s brother
Left Back – Ah Leong
Centre Midfield – Dennis
Centre Midfield – John S
Right wing – Swee Hoe
Forward – Mark C
Forward – another of Michael / Kearsley / Michael’s brother
Left wing – Joel
The provisional line up may be changed depending on the feedback I get.
We have 10 subs, so at least half the side will be substituted, and some of the substitutes may also be substituted. Everyone in the squad should get at least 20 minutes.
Please be at Tampines SAFRA by 10.30 am. A location map can be found here
Anyone in the provisional starting 11 who is very late will be replaced and will become a substitute instead. We’ll finalise the starting 11 by 10.45 am. Even if you’re a substitute, try to be there by 11 am latest.
Anyone who cannot be there in time or at all, post a comment/response below, e-mail me or SMS me.
It is an artificial pitch. I called Tampines SAFRA and asked what kind of shoes are recommended. The woman at the other end said “any kind of shoe” will do. Whatever you feel comfortable on when you play at East Coast, The Cage or St Wilfred’s should do.
Everyone else is welcome to come and watch. Tarrom, don’t forget to bring Dennis’ orange ball.
