Yesterday’s game went on as scheduled from 8 to 9 pm, even though we only had 4 on 4 – Clive, Dennis, Mark L and Andrew P v Teik, Channou, Swee Hoe and me. Nicolas’ foot injury took him out before we were half way through.
Tom was indisposed by a family emergency.
With more space on the pitch, there was more passing and movement, and ultimately, an excellent work out. Even Channou, who is usually full of running, was exhausted by the end.
With the lesser numbers, the rules were turned on their head – goals could only be scored from within the D. For the time he played, Nicholas’ goalscoring prowess was hampered by the change in the rules, while Channou found it hard to adjust to the new rule.
Next week’s game is on Monday 4 Feb 2008 at Bukit Timah campus (Court No. 2), from 8 to 10 pm. Again, For those of you who haven’t been before, a map: http://law.nus.edu.sg/btc/images/LocationMapSml.jpg. It is the hard court between the tennis courts and the football field.
I have confirmed so far: Cahir, Collin, Mark C, Dennis, Teik, Tom and myself. Nicolas, how is your foot. Can you play on Monday?
My apologies if I’ve missed anyone out who has already confirmed. I had problems with the e-mail yesterday afternoon.
I appreciate that some of you cannot make it next week due to the proximity of Chinese New Year, but those of you who can, lease confirm. As pointed out before, we can be a lot more flexible with the numbers at Bukit Timah. Responses by the end of tomorrow please.
